Coconut water and the kernel meat helps in constipation. I have tried it with some success. Below are some information on the "young coconut".
Digestive System Disorder

It is a young coconut. Young coconut is greenish in colour while the mature ones are brown.
However, if you are buying from grocery store, they probably husked it already.
drink the juice and then split the coconut and use a spoon to scoup up the kernel. If it is a young coconut, it is very easy to take kernel.
If you are constipated, you should take one or two to help in BM.

Sorry for the questions, but I'm desperate...and I can't find these young coconuts anywhere.

I buy mine from Asian Grocery store. Also, go to the grocery store (has to be a fairly large one) and talk to the purchasing guy and ask him if he can help to find you one. Even if they cannot, I am sure he/she will know where to get one in the vicinity.
Another choice (although an expensive one) is to see if you can find a Thai restaurant. I am sure they will have one. it is common is Thai meals.

A husked coconut does not affect the coconut efficacy. In fact, usually all coconuts shipped are husked already. In the tropics, if you just pluck them from the tree, it will not be husked.
The kernel, eat as many coconuts you open. Normally, I eat only one. But there are people who can eat two (which is a lot).
