Yoga and IBS - I fully recomend it

Hi

If you do not do any exercise at all and you suffer from IBS,I strongly suggest you take up yoga.

I have been doing yoga for the last 3 years and initially it was tough going but after a while you will get use to it and slowly but surely, it seems that the attacks have become less and less. Not only that, the severity has drastically drop. You can't notice but if you look back 1 year ago, provide you consistently do yoga weekly, you will come to realize that it has improved.

The best way is to take up yoga with an qualified instructor. The session does not only provide you with the right instruction but the class with other people there will provide you with the motivation to continue.

Things you have to do to find the right instructor.
1) Check out the credentials of the instructor or the fitness centre
2) Why is this important? Because you suffer from IBS and you will need some extra and different exercises. You will have let the instructor know of your problem and he/she will be able to find some extra exercises for you.
3) Determine the level of yoga that fits you. Do not go for advanced class immediately. Do it gradually.

One way to decide if Yoga is for you is to take free lessons. Most Yoga classes offer one or two classes free.

Alternatively, you can pick up a book on Yoga. There are plenty around. Most books or ebooks offer simpler exercises and should be pretty adequate as a starting point and daily use.

Weight is also the other aspect that affects IBS. If you are overweight, you should do something about it. The only safe way I know is to exercise and diet.

If you want to check out this yoga book that tackles both the practice of Yoga and Weight. This was the first book I purchased to understand Yoga.
